What it's used for: Sun protection, Wrinkles

How it works: Tea phenols are derived from plants, in particular, Camillia sinensis, which is progressively fermented to produce green tea, oolong tea, and black tea. Tea phenols are potent antioxidants and are strong inhibitors of

skin cancers and inflammation.

Effectiveness: Tea phenols have been proven to have many protective effects when consumed orally. In addition, recent research has shown topical tea phenols help prevent skin damage and photoaging that results from ultraviolet radiation. They have also been shown to help prevent suppression of the skin's immune function, thus protecting from the formation of skin cancers. Tea phenols work well in conjunction with other antioxidants, particularly vitamin E.
