1. How often should I clean my skin?
It is best to take a bath or shower on a daily basis (once a day) but to spend no longer than 10 minutes in the shower or bath

2. What is the best water temperature to use when washing my skin?
It is best to use lukewarm water versus very hot water when bathing. Hot water can cause irritation and lower the threshold for itching.

3. Are there some soaps that tend to be better than others?
Soaps contain detergents which may be harmful and irritating to the skin. There are many soaps that are available that are made with attention to the skin. These include but are not limited to Dove, Basis, Lever 2000, Cetaphil cleanser, Neutrogena products, and Oil of Olay Complete Body Wash.

4. Do I need to wash every inch of my skin?
No. In general this is fine. However, for people with very sensitive skin, it is OK to just wash the neck, armpit and groin area and allow the water to rinse the other areas. Using soap in this restricted manner can help to cut down irritation.

5. Should I use a buff puff or wash cloth?
In general, these types of products can lead to irritation. It is best to avoid them.

6. How should I dry off?
When drying off, it is best to pat dry instead of rubbing dry. Pat drying will help to decrease skin irritation.

7. How frequently should I moisturize?
You can moistruize as many times a day as you need to help to prevent dryness. It is ideal to apply moisturizer within 3 minutes after drying off in a effort to help lock in moisture.

8. How about sun screen?
Sun sceen is critical to good skin care. For more information on this, see our Sun Protection section
