What it's used for: Wrinkles, Age spots, Sensitive skin

How it works: Kinerase or kinetin (known chemically as N6-furfuryladenine) is a plant cytokinin, a compound that regulates certain aspects of plant growth and helps to retard the aging in plants as well as regulate growth under certain

extreme conditions. In humans, Kinerase seems to have a similar effect on the cells that contribute to aging (fibroblasts). Through these effects, Kinerase is thought to slow and correct signs of aging.

Effectiveness: Studies have shown Kinerase cream and lotion to signficantly reduce signs of photoaging including tactile skin roughness, mottled pigmentation and fine wrinkles (with all patients responding to some degree). These same studies showed an increase in skin barrier function and the ability to better retain moisture. Other studies have shown Kinerase to be extremely well tolerated even in those with the most sensitive skin. This may be an advantage in those with eczema, rosacea and other sensitive skin conditions who are looking to fight signs of aging. Kinerase may also be considered in those who are too irritated by retinoids.
